How to Deliver the Task to Hardware Team

Introduction

This article will introduce how to deliver tasks to hardware team regularly and double check the tasks.
Step 1 Operation team creates the task on staff panel V2.
Step 2 Operation team delivers the task to certain data center group on Skpye.
Step 3 Hardware team reports the result on operation with V2 Task ID.
Step 4 Operation or Support team member double check the task and report the result on Skype.
 

Step 1 Operation team creates the task on staff panel V2.

Operation team clicks on the New task at first, then choose the task type of number 2. In most of the situation, it will be DC visit in this box. Then choose the appropriate sub type on number 3.
 
 
There are 4 kinds of type under that box.
  1. If there is a new server online, click on New server.
  2. If the server needs to be upgraded or downgraded, click on Re-configure.
  3. If there are some hardware issues like replace the power supply or motherboard. Click on Repair.
  4. If none of that describes the issue precisely, click on Other. Then describe the issue in the comment box.
 
 
Write down the Task subject and choose the agent who needs operating the task. Then mark the group as operation. After that, put the relative ticket ID and Client ID on these two boxes.
Task regulations: every task need to be regulated instead of casual delivering.
  1. Background (reason to do this task)
  2. Object (targets that need to be dealt with, DC->Rack->Server-> Disk)
  3. Information (Operating system, IP, username and password…etc)
  4. Steps(a,b,c,d,e…etc)
  5. verification

Step 2 Operation team delivers the task to certain data center group on Skpye.

  1. Locate the data center where the servers at. For example, if it is in Zcolo, please leave the message in Dallas group.
  2. Operation team member needs to copy and paste the Subject, Ticket ID, steps in details and V2 task ID and @ who operating the task to hardware team goupe on Skype. Including the reason for this task as well and how to examinate the task by hardware team.

Step 3 Hardware team reports the result on operation with V2 Task ID.

Hardware team reports the results in operation group with V2 task ID on Skype once it done.
 

Step 4 Operation or Support team member double check the task and report the result on Skype.

Support or Operation team member needs to double check the task when the result has been reported on Skype. If something goes wrong, please leave the feedback in chat right away. If everything has been finished correctly, go to V2 panel close the task then report it on Skype.
