How to Enable Dedicated Application Pool and Write Permission for Website in WebsitePanel

How to Enable Dedicated Application Pool and Write Permission for Website in WebsitePanel

1 Problem

If a website uses a shared application pool, the performance of the website could be affected if other websites also use it. Especially, if the shared application pool stops, all websites that are using it will be down. In order to avoid this problem, we can enable dedicated application pool for the websites.
In some occasions, we may not be able to modify the contents of a website. We will then need to enable ‘write permission’ to the website.

2 Login to Control Panel

3 Click "My Server" Hosting Spaces

4 Click “Web Sites” under HOSTING SPACE MENU

5 Click website name

6 Enable Dedicated Application Pool and Write Permission

7 Save changes

8 Check the dedicated application pool and write permission

8.1 Check the dedicated application pool

If we do not enable dedicated application pool for the website, the default application pool is ASP.NET, as shown below in picture I. When the ‘dedicated application pool’ is enabled, the website application pool is dedicated, as shown below in  picture II.
