Sometimes our clients need to upgrade their VPS server to higher level for a better performance. This tutorial shows you how to upgrade a Windows VPS plan.
2 How to Upgrade Vva SolidCP
An Express Windows VPS to Basic Windows VPS upgrade is used below as an example.
2.1 Update the Windows VPS Plan first
2.1.1 Sign in the Control Panel
- The default Control Panel URL is cpxxxx.databasemart.com/, the username is serveradmin and password is D**********;
- Navigate to the Control Panel URL from billing if it is not the default;
2.1.2 Search the Username
2.1.3 Click Virtual Private Servers
If the client has several Hosting Spaces, we need to select the one that hosts the VPS from the dropdown list.
2.1.4 Click the Plan
2.1.5 Click “Edit Details”
2.1.6 Revise plan configurations
Revise the current plan information to match the target plan configurations.
2.2 Update the Configurations
2.2.1 Click the Virtual Private Servers
2.2.2 Click VM
2.2.3 Edit the Configurations
2.2.4 Click “OK” to Apply the New Configuration. The VPS will be Rebooted.
3 Steps on Host Server
3.1 Find the host server information
Obtain the host server information from the MIS system.
3.2 Connect to the hosting server
Login to the host server through Remote Desktop Connection from the Terminal Server.
3.3 Click “Hyper-V Manager”
3.4 Find the Server and Shut it Down
3.5 Click “Setting” and Reconfigure the Server's Resources
Reconfigure the server's resources in terms of Memory, Processor and Disk size.
3.6 Start the VM

4.1 Login to VPS
Connect to the VPS via RDP from the terminal server to reconfigure the disk resource.
4.2 How to Reconfigure the Disk Resource
4.2.1 Click “Administrative Tools”
4.2.2 Click “Computer Management”
4.2.3 Click “Disk Management”
4.2.4 Click “Extend Volume”
5 Message the Billing Department
After the technical part has been completed, message the billing team in Skype or transfer the related ticket to billing. They will update the billing information.
